Recent Son Volt raves...

"The right mix of pastoral beauty and bar-band swagger... Farrar turns out thirteen elegantly wasted, begrudgingly tuneful songs"

- Rolling Stone

"Farrar's perfectly ramshackle voice still delivers his oblique lyrics, but now it's backed by a tighter, revamped line-up"

- Entertainment Weekly

"From the first track, "Bandages & Scars", a beautiful, warm, tube-amplifier sound asserts itself; you know you are in an idealized corner of pop music."

- The New York Times

"Farrar's warm rich vocals have never been in finer form, soothing while he sings his mind, and the band hasn't rocked the guitars this much ever."

- The New York Post

"Okemah fuses gorgeous melodies with thrashing country-punk tunes."

- Dallas Morning News

""Farrar returns with a more extroverted stance . . . melodies to run riot through Farrar's best-ever songs."

- Newark Star Ledger

"Farrar continues his bold capacity for weaving historic references, progressive images and political jabs into his lyrics, then drives them home ... Artistically potent, forever changing, he continues to build on his repute as one his generation's most important artists."
