OKEMAH AND THE MELODY OF RIOT REVISITED: On the Road and on the Radio

New 2-CD version of Son Volt's recent acclaimed album ships to radio on November 15, 2005 with bonus tracks and live recordings from recent concerts and radio visits.

In the spirit of Graham Parker's legendary Live Sparks promo record, Okemah Revisited features a bonus live disc of all 12 album tracks, sequenced as they are on the original Transmit Sound/Legacy release.

There are also two bonus tracks on the live disc - "Joe Citizen Blues" from their 2005 AAA Noncomvention set at the Tower Theater (Upper Darby, PA) and a surprise cover of the reggae classic, "Armagideon Time," taped before a sold out crowd at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

Disc one contains the full original CD plus three bonus studio tracks - "Joe Citizen Blues," "Exurbia," and "Anacostia" - written by Jay Farrar.

Son Volt's live TV special premiers nationwide this December, followed by more US Tour dates in 2006!

While the Okemah Revisited bonus disc lets you experience Son Volt live on CD, you will also have the opportunity to check out their concerts on TV, online, and in-person.

Their new Music Choice Concerts TV special premieres this December on DirecTV Freeview (Ch. 124) and cable systems nationwide. Check your local listings or the click here for exact dates in your area. This show was filmed at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, which was also the source of six of the live tracks on Okemah Revisited.

Before Jay Farrar and the band return to the road through the Southeast and Midwest in early 2006, you can also hear their 10/21 concert at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC online via the NPR Live Concert Series at npr.org.
